"I've found that when life's brush obscures my view with gloomy strokes that seem to mar the scene, God's hand appears and gives to sunless hue and dreary skies a more majestic sheen." Gustafson

1 month from today....

We'll be finishing up our day at Magic Kingdom! It's hard to believe Brit will be 5 one month from today!!
I've been MIA again friends (as you've noticed) but I'm back tonight. One day at a time! The past few weeks have been stressful and when I'm stressed, I eat like mad and don't have any motivation to work out. I did make it to D-1 this past Thurs night and today I got on the treadmill for 30 mins here at home. It felt good!

I met a wonderful lady last week who chooses not to eat sweets because of the way it makes her feel. She's thin and extremely health concise. Her commitment to not eat sugary foods/drinks, really inspired me. So last Wed, I decided to give it a try. It's Sunday night and I'm here to say I haven't had any sweets or white flour items or sugary drinks since Tuesday night. I've been consuming tons of juicy fruits - strawberries, grapes and pineapple to satisfy my sweet tooth. And the real shocker is, I've even had unsweet tea twice and really enjoyed it! Who would've thought this Southern gal could give up sweet tea! I'm not going to make an unrealistic commitment about my sugar detox but I will say I'm taking it one day at a time and I haven't even missed sweets. No Starbucks, no sodas, no cookies....it's been so freeing and it hasn't been hard!
Another fun thing...Chris and I are starting the gallon challenge tomorrow for the month of March. His trainer drank a gallon of water a day for a month and lost 30 lbs and didn't change any of his eating habits. Seems doable so we're going to start in the morning! Guess I'll be in the bathroom most of the month if you're looking for me. :)

I just read this article about water vs. coke and it was VERY enlightening and shocking! Thought I'd share....http://dustinmaherfitness.com/2010/02/28/water-or-soda/

Peace!

44 days and counting....

EXCITED about my 2nd morning in a row at boot camp! It was a great upper and lower body workout combined with running the field and up & down stairs (torture!). I'm definitely feeling the burn! Yesterday I did great on keeping track of everything I ate and even though I just started counting points 3 days ago, I'm feeling lighter already....it's been a long time since I've felt this way!
If the stars align, I'll be back at boot camp tomorrow at 6AM!
Happy weekend!

45 days til DW!

So thankful I got my booty out of bed at 4:25AM! I always dread boot camp but today I was really thankful I went. It was a smaller group and the session was just what I needed to get back into it - intense but not brutal! I've already spent some time in the Word and in prayer and I'm ready for the new day ahead! Thank you Lord!
Praying for focus and determination to count all my points today. It's nice that I earned some activity points for the day! :)

46 days and counting...

Sorry I've been MIA! Thanks Ally for encouraging me to get back to blogging! I've been exhausted every night this week so I've been trying to get in bed early. I haven't made it to D-1 since last Saturday morning because of ice and sleeping in! BUT, tomorrow's a new day and my plan is to go the next 3 mornings in a row. I haven't tried 3 sessions back to back so I'm sure my body will be screaming come Saturday afternoon!
Another update to share....I started counting points again yesterday. I realized that the weight's not coming off just by doing boot camp 3 days a week. Weight Watchers is the ticket! So I'm trying to get back to tracking points. It's always a battle for me but I'm praying for focus this go round.
Disney is getting oh so close! SUPER EXCITED!

53 days to DW!

Thankfully a little neck pain earlier today didn't keep me from going to boot camp tonight. Seriously, it was the toughest workout yet! And it was a LADY COACH! My boss, who's also going to D-1, said she's the most intense and now I know! She's amazing and such an encourager, just really a stickler for multiple reps and we went a FULL hour. Usually, we end after 50 minutes. So, I'm feeling the burn all over tonight. My body's starting to feel tighter so I know it's working! Really need to keep focused on my food portions and choices. Thanks for everyone's encouragement and support!

54 days and counting....

Sorry for being MIA the past few days! I had every intention of getting to D-1 on Saturday morning but the snow kept everyone inside. I did, however, make it last night to the 6PM class and because I hadn't been since last Thursday, I was whooped! It was a grueling, intense session but I enjoyed the new coach. Sadly, I'm struggling to overcome neck pain so I don't know if I'll make to the 5AM session in the morning. If not, I WILL go to the 6PM class. Thankfully, Chris has training all month so he's home every night this month around dinner time...we're loving his new schedule and don't want it to end! Thus, it gives me the option of going in the evening IF I need to.
Disney is quickly approaching and we're ALL getting SO excited!
